Your Students’ Union – services and support

Hello from Your Students’ Union

Sunderland Students Union is a charitable organisation led by students. Passionate about making sure you get the best out of your time in Sunderland.

Our Mission: Shaping students’ lives for the future

Our Vision: To reflect and act upon the priorities and aspirations of our students in all our decisions and actions. We believe our students are the best and we want to enable your success.

We are led by a team consisting of two Presidents, President: Sunderland and President: London and four Student Communities Officers. Our permanent staff team work alongside them to ensure that you receive the support you’re looking for from Your Students’ Union.

Our purpose is centered around our five key principles that shape how we work for you: Passionate, Integrity, Empowering, Success and Inclusive.

Your Voice

Our aim is for students to value Sunderland Students’ Union’s passion for representation at all levels both academic and democratic. We do this by capturing feedback, analysing and advocating for our students.

You could be the reason for meaningful change at the UoS!

Submit an idea and if it gets enough support from your fellow students, we’ll help you make that change. As we say here in Sunderland, ‘Shy Bairns get nowt!’.

Your Place

We want you to feel part of the University community.

Why not become a volunteer with Your SU? We have a great range of opportunities, both within the SU and in the wider community, including wellbeing, SU Buddy and one-off volunteering roles.
